Let’s improve communicationBy April Bethea Monitor Staff Melissa Monroe, a business reporter for the San Antonio Express-News, is president of the San Antonio Association of Black Journalists. She is the San Antonio chapter president and chairwoman of NABJ's Council of Presidents. An NABJ member for nearly 10 years, Monroe led efforts to create the San Antonio chapter, which hosted a successful regional convention in 2001 and was a finalist for NABJ Chapter of the Year honors. As parliamentarian, Monroe said, she would seek to improve communications and make sure the board of directors follows constitutional duties and other operating procedures. |
